Open pits continue to be a pricking thorn on Bulawayo Resident’s flesh as children die in these.

On the 9th of November, two Grade 4 pupils from Mahlathini Primary school in Cowdrypark drowned whilst swimming at a fuel station construction site. The two were coming from school.

Early this year, Phelandaba community lost at least two minors to open pits forcing the local authority to close Phelandaba West pit.
