Residents up in arms over copper cable thefts
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Residents of Trenance in Bulawayo are calling upon the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) to do something about the power supply outages caused by the theft of copper electric cables. About 30 households have gone without electricity for close to 2 months. Residents have tried to engage the national power utility without success. This power outage have inconvenienced residents in a number of ways. Some have had to throw away perishable commodities and others have seen their horticulture ventures suffering as a result. Trenance is home to a number of small scale farmers who are involved in horticulture and poultry. Electricity power supply interruptions are very bad for business and life in general.
