Police action keeps downtown Maputo practically empty

By: Francisco Manhique…Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the Mozambican government decided to depopulate what is, one of the most frequented places in the city of Maputo. The downtown area, specifically Avenida Guerra Popular, is one of the largest shopping centers in this province. Without this intervention many people would have been infected in that area. What is certain is that many traders in that place do not have / did not have a license for the work they perform and thanks to police intervention, today we see even the tiniest hole in that place.
