There have been various incidents which have taken place in Lomahasha where teenagers have been reported to be breaking into small spaza shops to steal edible goods for their starving families. It has also been discovered that the young gang who breaks into Spaza shops are also stealing clothes from their neighbors on the washing line during the night. The young children who have resulted in engaging in criminal activities are suspected to be from poverty stricken families where the elders are unemployed leaving them with no other choice but to steal in order to survive, these children complain about how sometimes they go to bed on an empty stomachs. The correctional services have taken action by arresting 14 children from the community of Lomahasha and placing them under juvenile custody. This shows the brutal results of poverty where we are in a generation where young children are forced to become breadwinners by stealing.
Meanwhile, there have been various criminal activities occurring in Lomahasha. The different activities which have been occurring are stealing of electricity cables, cooper, handy gas and cars. The community of Lomahasha has a high rate of unemployment which has resulted in a high rate of crime The community has a shortage of programs which can be used to empower the people of the Lomahasha community by teaching them variant skills.
