Lives of flood victims who are camping in different evacuation centers in Nsanje District are at risky of being affected by water borne diseases like cholera due to lack of sanitation and hygiene in the camps.
During spots checks at Bangula Admarc camp under traditional Authority Mbenje, it has been known that there is a challenge of clean and enough water; hence there is need to provide enough and clean water and other related support in all camps. Some urgent needs for the affected people in the camps are food, beddings and kitchen utensils.
Meanwhile, 15403 houses holds have been affected by heavy winds accompanied by heavy rains caused by Cyclone Ana and 5, 673 households are in camps in Nsanje district.
