Menstrual hygiene and sanitation challenges are still contributing to high school dropout in Mlomo area in Nsanje district in Malawi. More than 100 girls dropout of school every year due to menstrual hygiene problems in Mlomo area. Mothers groups from Mlomo area disclosed this following high dropout of primary school girls in the area. They said that they have noted when the girls reach puberty, most of them lose focus to continue with their education due to among others lack of proper toilets or changing rooms for their menstrual hygiene. Meanwhile, mothers groups have asked government and some organizations to construct changing rooms and toilets in schools and train mothers in their respective groups on how to make the reusable pads for the girls in the area.
