Water scarcity, a major crisis in Makapanstad Northwest

Water scarcity is a serious crisis for the community of Makapanstad and other surrounding places. Taps have been dry for a long period of time and water is only pumped into homes sometimes at night when people are sleeping. the major challenge that the community is complaining about is the pumping of dirty water each time it is made available to residents. The community’s right to clean and safe water is compromised as residents are made vulnerable to water borne diseases like cholera. Boreholes have become an alternative source of water for the community although the borehole water taste salty.
